Summary/Abstract: In the article, the Author discussed selected images of Tadeusz Kościuszko by Michał Stachowicz (1768–1825) – a painter, drawer and graphic artist from Cracow, known mainly as the creator of scenes commemorating important historical events, in particular related to the Kościuszko Uprising. The artist has created several dozen works (oil paintings, gouaches, drawings) showing the figure of the Chief, repeated many times in different shots. These are both portraits (individual and group) as well as collective, historical, battle and allegorical scenes. On all these compositions, Kościuszko appears as a commander, national hero, defender of the Homeland, a steadfast man.
