Summary/Abstract: Knowing local history is very important for the cultural development of a region. There are many characters who have left their mark upon different areas, but students aren’t studying them. This is why teachers must speak about them, about their achievements. In this article I intend to talk about methods that could be used in the history or geography classes to present Dimitrie Ghika‘s expedition in Africa. I chose this topic because many students do not know the details of this journey and I consider that it is a necessity to inform the students about moments of local history, as it is a part of world history.
