European Union and the Enlargement Process

Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the UE’s enlargement process, with its consequences regarding the political institutions and the life of its citizens. There is an entire set of problems related with these issues, starting with fears and “euromyths” all the way to the difficulties raised by the monetary union and economic growth. The conclusion is that there are good chances for the European Union to reach the conditions of strong political and economical power in the second decade of the XXIst century.
