Summary/Abstract: This is a short article about the future of immigration in EU, reviewing the evolution over the last 15 years and the legislation of the principal migration targets: Germany, France, and Italy. Given the new evolution of European migration politics, and the perspective of an enlarged Europe, with 27 member countries, this will remain an important issue on the political agenda. Europe will need immigrants, and cannot close the boundaries facing the menace of foreign peoples, despite the will of its citizens, often guided by side effects of migration.
