Summary/Abstract: The court guardianship, which has been operating in our country for a hundred years, took on different forms. Its forms of work, depending on the tasks assigned to it, were changing, evolving. In this article, the author shows the change which has been made over the last years, i.e. abandoning the work with an individual in favor of management of an individual. He wonders about the sense of this type of solutions, questioning their effectiveness and postulating the necessity of building an effective guardianship primarily on relations based on empirically verified theoretical assumptions.
