Summary/Abstract: This article highlights the secular and religious accessories that are part of the weddingceremony. The structure of the wedding consists of three stages: prenuptial, bridal and postnuptial, andthe most important bridal accessories are the ring (engagement and marriage), the groom’s suit andthe bride’s suit, the bride’s head cover, the icon (used in the religious marriage), different gifts offeredduring the engagement and the wedding. Each jewel has a history, a legend and preserves the memoryof significant events in human life. Designed to mark a unique and unrepeatable day in life, weddingand engagement jewelry has always taken the most varied forms, with the purpose of highlighting,through coded language, the brilliance of the wedding costume. Based on the information available inthe specialized literature and archives, supplemented by the data of the field documentation, the authorspresent the most important articles attested in the current space of the Republic of Moldova andwhich can be cataloged as heritage pieces.
