Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the use of the Bulgarian name for Christmas (Koleda) for an icicle in the Eastern Rhodopes and South Rhodopes Bulgarian dialects. The range of its distribution is described. Other remnants of the Christian past in the dialects of the Rhodopean Bulgarians, professing Muslim religion, are also mentioned.
