Summary/Abstract: The article will observe the adaptation an exemplary work like the „The Iliad” of Homer in theperiod of the Bulgarian Revival. Very significant is the scientific reflection on the familiar trend of „artisticre-creation” of „redrawing” of the source text to the expectations of the perceived literature. Not surprisingly the reception of Homer creates a constructive field for the critical thinking in the cultural situation in the Bulgarian national Revival. The new type of readership builds up from the self-knowledge of the new type of literary criticism.
