Summary/Abstract: In the contribution author deals with the definition of prevention, like a series of measures to prevent negative life situations with social work context. She presents and analyses single kinds of prevention depending on the problem or its´ the level in which the prevention is realized (primary, secondary and tertiary), also holders and prevention activities entities formulates single tasks and prevention aims. It stresses the importance of prevention in social work.
