What will be the challenges of transposing and applying the Directive 2016/1919 EU on free legal assistance (...) in criminal proceedings?

Summary/Abstract: The deadline for transposition of the Directive 2016/1919/EU has expired and any solution of the Romanian authorities must be accompanied by budgeting, so that the right to free legal aid is effective. The establishment of the system of granting the free legal assistance on the basis of the solidity criterion (of the incrimination – merits test) would be consistent with the currently stated system of mandatory legal assistance.
