Unofficial anthroponyms in the Slovak-Polish language boundary

Summary/Abstract: Unofficial anthroponyms are common names that form a dynamic, constantly developing anthroponymic system manifested in spatial, temporal and frequency dimensions. The method of forming Unofficial anthroponyms is influenced by communication needs, socio-cultural situation of particular area, local habits and the formal aspect is affected by a local dialect. This research was carried out in the language boundary of Slovakia and Poland. On both sides, two neighbouring, but remarkably distinct villages were chosen. They differ in their character and nature, area, population, etc.
