Summary/Abstract: The need for environmental education is emphasized by the disastrous consequences caused by the imbalance between development and care for the environment. Irrational industrialization process has the effect of environmental pollution and thus disturbance of natural phenomena. The frequency of weather events with high impact on human settlements is increasing. Human health is endangered, and many species of flora and fauna are endangered. Consequently, improving people’s consciousness and accountability for the natural environment and its problems require: improving the respect for our natural environment; rational use of natural resources; responsible waste management.
