Summary/Abstract: The Architectural Environment in the Flemish Painting of the 15th Century. The space described by the Flemish painters in the 15th century gathers visual documents of the architectural environment of the time. The visual details are collated on biblical illustrations, in a specific representation of the historical and geographical data. The most interesting characteristic of the visual representations in the artistic creations of the epoch is the interaction of the sacred and profane spaces. This characteristic is analysed in the works of three outstanding creators: Master of Flemalle, Jan van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden.
