Summary/Abstract: Biological sciences are very complex and rich in terms that are often difficult to be understood and used by students. Many of these scientific terms are of Greek and Latin origin and consist basically of a prefix added to a root word; several prefixes and root words can be also parts of other scientific terms. In this way, by understanding the meaning of basic prefixes and root words, a mechanism for an anticipated apprehension of new terms can be created.
