Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with generic and topical repercussions of the search for identity, observed within contemporary women's writing in Serbia. Novels by Vida Ognjenović, Ljubica Arsić and Mirjana Mitrović tread new paths in reading (auto)biography, taking it either as an experiment with identity, or a study on gender issues.
