Summary/Abstract: This study is dedicated to the life, work and views of Vera Nikolaevna Haruzina (1866-1931), who was the first woman-professor of ethnography at Russian universities. Vera Haruzina originated from the unique family, which gave Russia the four outstanding scientists who devoted their lives to the science of ethnography. Together, Michael Nikolaevich (1860-1888), Nikolai Nikolaevich (1865-1900), Alexei Nikolaevich (1864-1832) and Vera Haruzina have over 500 ethnographic works - including monographs, articles, essays, artistic prose on ethnographic topics, reviews.
