Summary/Abstract: Remembering the valuable scientific contributions and as a founder of many scientific and cultural institutions, Grigore Antipa was a model of a visionary biologist, devoted to the country. With his basic education at the University of Jena – Germany, having as adviser the evolutionist and morphologist Ernst Haeckel, Grigore Antipa became the first Romanian hydrobiologist, oceanologist, ecologist, ichthyologist and not least – museologist. The new museotechnics recently applied in Bucharest’s Museum of Natural History and reorganization of the basic exhibition are based on the principles of diorama’s structures – invented by Grigore Antipa at the beginning of 20th century.
