An archive of the creative process – the genetic approach to research

Summary/Abstract: This paper outlines the Polish reception of achievements of the French school of genetic criticism. It highlights the applicability of this methodology in research on the archives of artists, in particular autobiographical writings that shed light on the creative process. The second part of the paper presents approaches currently emerging in France, where the method of genetic criticism in research on artistic archives is becoming more prominent.
