Summary/Abstract: The objective of this paper is to indicate a new area for reflection and scientific investigation which is constituted by teaching and learning the Polish Sign Language. Knowledge within this scope is constantly developed by means of the activity of teachers in educational practice, in the course of various training events, courses, classes of foreign languages and other forms of education. The acquired practical knowledge may, by means of research work, be transformed into scientific knowledge and accumulated within a single scope of (subdiscipline?) of the didactics of the sign language.
