This paper unveils an image of lyrical characters of “Сестры” poem (from “Ярь”, 1906). The attempt is made to prove, that women – are undines. The relation of water creatures with fire element is considered to be a poetic innovation. In the process of analysis and interpretation many symbols are decoded, which allow to express the truth about human existence in the world: symbolism of number three, yarn spinning motive, symbolism of the moon and burning.
