Summary/Abstract: As a result of the intensification and diversification of migration processes, education decision-makers across the globe find themselves facing issues of multilingual education. Coupled with demands for inclusive education for all children, education professionals, especially school leaders, are challenged with finding the best solutions possible. Moreover, school leaders lack useful evaluation tools for reviewing or revising multilingual education in the turbulent times. Stemming from the practical need for assistance in the adaptation process and the gap in research, this article proposes a new synthesized conceptual framework for analysing and evaluating the current status and characteristics of multilingual education. Firstly, the article reviews the available approaches to multilingual education and provides an analysis of them. Secondly, based on the synthesis of results, an elaborated conceptual framework in the format of a guidance tool is introduced to assist school leaders in their work with multilingual education.
