Summary/Abstract: This study aims at assessing the competitiveness of the cotton industry in Cote d'Ivoire. The survey involved two hundred and eighty-nine (289) producers, four (04) ginning companies, one (01) spinning company, two (02) crushing companies and seven (07) management structures of the sector. The data were analyzed using Monke and Pearson's (1989) Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). Results show that the cotton industry is competitive and has a comparative advantage. The different actors achieve economic and financial profitability. The cotton industry is protected by the agricultural policy of Cote d'Ivoire. Each link has joint protection on the price of outputs and tradable inputs and also an implicit subsidy.
