Summary/Abstract: The capital market is a market designed to finance medium and long-term investments. It is often considered only as a securities and shares market, but other instruments are also traded on it. Transactions on it are carried out by various entities, which can be individuals, companies, banks, investment companies, international and multinational institutions. Management companies are also one of the subjects of the capital market. A management company is a joint-stock company established for the purpose of doing business with its registered office in the Slovak Republic, the object of which is to create and manage mutual funds on the basis of a license to establish and operate a management company granted by the Financial Market Authority. Currently, the capital market is in crisis, because securities are not issued on the Slovak market. I see the solution to the future of our capital market in encouraging Slovak companies to issue more securities. If this situation does not occur, there is a risk of stagnation and even the demise of the Slovak stock exchange.
