Summary/Abstract: This study deals with the objections against the authenticity of St. James’ Epistlebased on external evidence. We present the position of the Western and EasternChurch regarding this book, trying to show that the historical sources do not supportthe theories of pseudonimity but favour the traditional view that James, the brotherof the Lord, is its author.
