Summary/Abstract: The biblical texts should not be considered merely as the relicts from the past to which we are approaching with pietistic dreadfulness, but rather as the living Word of God that addresses all people of all epochs. The role of the Scriptures in the Church has always been to teach, to correct, and to prophesize. When a religion became a prescription, a community an institution, the Spirit transforms in the letter of Law, the biblical narratives are reactivated: “Remember then from what you have fallen, repent and do the works you did at first” (Rel 2, 5). Mercy to the others, the ethics of unconditioned love should not be suppressed through the humans’ tradition and religious prescripts, and must remain the “trademark” and the essence of the Christian message.
