Summary/Abstract: Mircea Tomescu was born in a poor ploughing family in Mehedinţi County. After graduating from high school, he pursues military studies to become an officer. He became known as a remarkable figure during his military career as an exceptional officer and a very good teacher and pedagogue. Memories of him remained alive for some of his colleagues. One such colleague was Colonel Gheorghe Magherescu who not only appreciated him but also talked about him in the conversations with Iosif Constantin Drăgan. Starting from the assumption that it is important to know as many opinions as possible and from the fact that this information was not available to a large number of readers, we will depict, in this scientific paper, the image of the officer and teacher MirceaTomescu as shown in Colonel Gheorghe Magherescu’s memories.
