Summary/Abstract: The article reviews a critical edition with a translation of the Karaite text known as Pinkas shel Melakhim (‘Register of Kings’), recorded on folio 1 verso of manuscript Evr I Doc II 87 from Abraham Firkowicz Collection at the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg. The document contains a list of Polish and Lithuanian rulers and reviews several selected events from the history of Poland and Lithuania. The author seeks to explain the genesis of this text and of several issues related to its interpretation and classification from the literary point of view. He pays particular attention to an extract dealing with the expulsion of the Jews from Lithuania in 1495.
