Summary/Abstract: In the article there is presented the position of Law and Justice government and of the opposition parties against teachers’ community protest including teacher trade unions and regarding imple- menting of changes in education system in Poland in 2019. Than main demand was the increase of basic teachers’ remuneration. Apart from that, teachers expected more financial support for education from the country budget, changes in teachers’ professional assessment criteria and in promotion system as well as the resignation of National Education Ministry Ms Anna Zalewska. The protesting teachers were represented by three trade unions. That were Polish Teachers’ Union (ZNP), Independent Self-Governing Labour Union ‘Solidarność’ – Country Section of Education and Upbringing (KSOiW NSZZ Solidarność) and Free Trade Union ‘Solidarność- -Oświata’ (WZZ Solidarność-Oświata) a memeber organisation of Trade Unions’ Forum. The president of ZNP is Sławomir Broniarz, Ryszard Proksa is the chairman of KSOiW NSZZ Solidarność and WZZ ‘Solidarność-Oświata’ is represented by Sławomir Wittkowicz. The aim of this article is to present the decisions of Mateusz Morawicki’s government and the position of parliamentary opposition against the protest action in education system public institutions in 2019. There are presented the reasons, the course and the consequences of teachers’ strike for chil- dren and parents as well as for the educational employees not being teachers. In the article the following research methods have been used: decisional, institutionary-legal, comparison, statistical, content analysis. It was an attempt to answer research questions re- garding reasons and consequences of teacher trade unions’ protests in the case of changes in educational system in Poland in 2017 and governmental decisions as well as parliamentary opposition stance against the demands of teachers’ trade unions.
