Summary/Abstract: Muscular dystrophies are genetically determined diseases, usually progressive and causing significant mobility disability. They differ in clinical picture and inheritance. Physiotherapy and pharmacotherapy are mainly used in the treatment process. The article emphasizes the importance of support for psychosocial development of children with dystrophy. Particular attention should be paid to supporting development in the areas of motor skills, emotional and social functioning, and personality development.
