First Museum Collections in Gubernial Kazan

Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the issue of the time of creation of the first museum collections in Kazan, which laid the foundation for the opening of university museums here at the beginning of the 19th century. A conclusion is made that the analysis of the information available in the literature and involved sources can significantly extend the chronological framework of the history of museums in the city, the beginning of which should be dated to the second half of the 19th century.
