Summary/Abstract: The struggle at the socio-political scene, as well as fin de siècle political turbulences had had in fact a deep impact at the complete European cultural-artistic opus, and therefore affected the creating of BH art music, which was, although placed at the margin of all contemporary European music activities, still able to simultaneously create its proper musical expression under European music’s strong influence, regardless of having in action stiff traditionalism that principally excludes progress, even the progress which quite often has bypassed values of a tradition, and which has had overall influence at the complete cultural development of the BH population. On several occasion throughout her history, Bosnia was forced to prove to itself and others its statehood and the specific cultural environment, when compared to other countries and its wider vicinity as well.
