Summary/Abstract: This study explains the way in which Eminescu’s poetry is known by our neighbour. First translations of Eminescu’s poems in Hungarian language were made when he was still alive and that translations of Hungarian belong both bilingual and some Romanian, Hungarian language proficient, all being impressed so kind poetic and tragic fate Eminescu’s poems. The first article about Eminescu in Hungarian is actually an obituary appeared in the newspaper „Plain” in Arad. We can remark that after 1989 nothing was written or translated about Mihai Eminescu and this may represent an alarm signal.
