Summary/Abstract: The rapid spread of COVID-19 and its effects across the whole economy are causing governments and businesses to take measures at both local and global level. Romania is currently facing perhaps the biggest economic crisis in modern times. The Romanian government has addressed the current situation with a series of economic and fiscal measures to try to support the business environment affected by the crisis. To do so, it has enacted various pieces of legislation in the economic and fiscal environment, and consequently the legal framework is quite volatile. The government’s measures to ensure an established income during the state of emergency are contained in several recently adopted items of legislation. Among the most important and topical measures of an exceptional nature we can list Law no. 19/2020 on granting parents time off for supervision of children, during periods of temporary closure of educational establishments.
