Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to analyze El sueño del señor juez (2000) by Carlos Gamerro in the light of his two recent essays: Ficciones barrocas (2010) and Facundo o Martín Fierro (2015). Gamerro, whose novel is representative for the revisionist tendency of reinterpreting the Argentinian XIXth century, very present in the Argentinian narrative after the last dictatorship, retakes the opposition between two classics: Martín Fierro and Facundo, and thanks to different textual games creates a “baroque fiction”, pointing out the baroquization of the Argentinian reality.
