Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to various types of stamped ornament on the Attic black-glazed ceramics of the Classical period from Olbia. Based on the analogies from the Athens and materials from other cities of the North Black Sea region, the author draws conclusions about distribution of these ceramic products in Olbia during the whole Classical period. The main stamp types on the open-type ceramics like kylikes, skyphoi, kantharoi, bowls and plates have been addressed. In most cases, stamps were applied on the near-bottom part of the open-form houseware. The earliest stamp variants emerge in the last quarter of the 5th century BC — the whole range of ovule ornaments. Palmettes remain the most popular elements during the whole period, almost always combined with other elements. Amont rarer stamps, there are lotus flowers, ivy leaves, olive branch, which are typical for the late 5th — the early 4th century BC. As a result, it has been discovered that Olbia had all known types of the stamped ornament; furthermore, unlike in classical typologies, many more variants of decorative elements were noted. This fact emphasizes a significant informative value of the Olbian collection and the need for its further thorough examination.
