Summary/Abstract: This article is a short history of one of the biggest chemical company from Bacau County. It was settled around years sixtieth during the communist époque of industrialization, using as the main raw material the salty water coming from the salt mine in Targu Ocna. Its first products were: chlorine, sodium hydroxide and hydrogen gas, then along came the chloride of lime, synthetic rubber and different types of polymers and many more other chemical products. The plant was very important in economical and social development of both the town Onesti (Gheoghe Gheorgiu‑Dej, at that time) and Bacau County.
