Summary/Abstract: This paper analizes the poetics of George Bacovia’s creation, emphasizing the fact that he is an authentic simbolist. His poetry describes the interior and the exterior universe, both of them being suffocated by the atmosphere of complete solitude, rain, desolation, gangrene and overwhelming sadness. All these feelings are suggested by the colors such as white, black, red, grey, yellow and violet. Always raining, the leaves fall, crows crossing sky, in the street funeral processions pass decor trivial lovers are sick, frail children, corpses rot everywhere is crying, coughing, agony, and eventually, death, in a word: the bacovian universe.
