Summary/Abstract: As we consider ourselves citizens of the rule of law and a democratic society, we can only consider the right to a fair trial as one of the cornerstones of the rule of law. This right is guaranteed in our legal system by, among other things, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (hereinafter also the Convention), specifically Article 6, which, contrary to initial expectations, has become the most frequent article for complaints of violations. for Human Rights (hereinafter the Court). It was on its application in the Czech legal environment and a general view of the mechanism of direct applicability of the source of law, such as an international agreement in the legal environment of the Czech Republic, that we decided to take a closer look in our paper.
