Summary/Abstract: The communication “Pasiune dincolo de hotar – cantonul muzeu de la Ghimeş” presents the history of a place and a person. This communication aims to inform you about the importance of the passion that keeps the past alive. The central point of contact between Moldavia and Transylvania, the rural place Ghimeş provides permanent and continuous links between populations in these areas, here being one of the most important points of the railway. In this area there is a block station which became a museum. It is here that Mr. Bilibok Agoston has a collection, a treasure of railway items. The collection contains interesting railway exhibits picked up during a long period of time: signs of locomotives from different countries, locomotives numbers, speedometers steam locomotives, electric clock platform made in Leningrad, in 1920, pictures illustrating various stages of railways construction, diplomas and meadls, railways literature, maps, border crossing documents, copies of vintage photos etc. We can feel in the voice of Mr. Bilibok the emotion and passion when he is talking about each item from his collection.
