Summary/Abstract: The wedding customs at Macedo-Romanians communities (A-Romanians and Megleno-Romanians) are influenced by the tribal organization (fară) and the family one (fălcare) as well as by the status of the group leader (celnic) or of the old man (auşlu). They played a determinant role in the marriage, sometimes setting it even before the children were born and not asking the involved youths. At the end of the 19th Century and the first half of the 20th Century the match-maker appeared but the marital selection followed strict rules. The family and the large family the youths belong to play a decisive role till nowadays. The paper underlines some aspects from pre-marital customs (marital selection, asking in marriage, engagement) and the wedding stressing upon the transition to a new family such as sexual initiation, the using of substitutes of the young couple: dough, knot-shaped bread, apple, flag (flambură, furgliţă), separation and integration customs etc.
