Tradition and actuality in the academic sociology of Iași

Summary/Abstract: The text aims at emphasizing the tradition and evolution of the academic sociology of Iaşi, tracking its origins. Thus, we tried to focus upon the emblematic personalities who contributed to the development of sociology in Iaşi (Constantin Dimitrescu-Iași, Constantin Leonardescu, Dimitrie Gusti, Petre Andrei, Vasile Miftode), dwelling on the ideas and themes outlined or developed by them at the Iaşi school of sociology. Our approach went even further, purporting to emphasize the professional competences and publications of the new generation of sociological thinkers in Iaşi, especially as authors of volumes. This approach, which is part of a history of sociology in Iaşi, shows that sociology at „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University has had an outstanding evolution and a unique tradition.##plugins.themes.academic_pro.article.details##
