Witness to the Events in Ukraine in 1918: the Journey of a Romanian Aviator

Summary/Abstract: The year 1918 was a year full of historical events. National self­-determination will conquer the entire Russian space, including Bessarabia and Ukraine. At the beginning of 1918, Romani­an officers on mission in Odessa witnessed the events in the city: the infiltration of the Bolshevik elements and the conquest of power by them. In the memo presented to the Romanian General Headquarters, aviation lieutenant Vasile Alexăndreanu, the main protagonist, narrates how the revolutionary elements, especially Romanian deserters, contributed to the spread of terror in the city, the arrest and humiliation of the Romanian citizens in Odessa, especially lawma­kers and officers.
