Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of the analysis of two pension systems, from Romania and Poland, in order to highlight the differences between them in the context of the aging population. The detailing of the pension pillars allows to indicate the characteristics and the ways in which each government acts following the balance at the level of the pension system. As pensions are the main source of income for the elderly, it is necessary to follow to what extent these categories of beneficiaries are concerned to obtain amounts from other sources as well. Thus, the elements that differentiate the two cage systems are indicated, even if they are built similarly.
