Summary/Abstract: Although minimized for a long time, Neagoe Basarab's work must be reconsidered in its original part by its special artistic value. The analysis on her full translation into Romanian language from the beginning of the 17th century and not on the partially preserved source text, does not diminish the importance of the research (the Cazania of Varlaam, considered our first proser, is also a translation, ethically speaking. It is an exercise of displaying the artistic virtues of the Romanian language, before its formalization as a cult language in the church
