Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to evaluate the determinants of financial performance based on a sample of 50 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange included in the FTSE 100 stock index, in the period 2010-2017. Financial performance was quantified through accounting indicators: financial profitability (ROE) and economic profitability (ROA). The following factors were selected considering their influence on company's performance: capital structure, company liquidity, share of current assets in total assets, market multiples, effective corporate tax rate, company size. The results obtained from estimating multivariate regression models, with panel data, showed a positive influence of liquidity and price multiples on performance, respectively a negative influence of capital structure, effective tax rate and company size.
