Summary/Abstract: A great deal of recent literature on the topic of women and violent extremism has been focused on identifying what motivates women to join violent extremist groups. Authors have highlighted the push and pull factors that drive women toward extremism, and in many cases, researchers have sought to establish a profile, or several profiles, of the women most at risk of being radicalized. Some studies have also explored the best ways for women to participate in preventing violent extremism.
