Summary/Abstract: The story of the Romanian expedition to Somalia from 1895–1896 made by Dimitrie and Nicolae Ghica‑Comănești is presented in this article in order to remember us about two of the greatest science men from our country. Their expedition was important because of its documentary interest and scientific results, which were written in two works, one in Romanian and the other in French. Even if Dimitrie and Nicolae Ghica announced that their purpose was hunting, the expedition meant more: a clear observation of nature and the discovery of new species. It’s necessary to mention the value of his work – A Romanian expedition to Africa, a book which should be re‑published.
