Crime prevention through environmental design – Polish educational experiences based on European and American experience

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the article is to identify and analyse the use of American and European experience in the environmental design of safety and security places with reference to police teachingin Poland. Based on theoretical methods, the article describes the activity of the Polish Police incrime prevention through environmental design, including educational component. Furthermore,the article refers to changes in the study programme in the field of internal security and to the socialcrime prevention programme called ”Safer together” as a potential source of national regulationsand indications of environmental design.
