Summary/Abstract: This paper tries to present another side of the playwright I. L. Caragiale, revealed by his publishing work. Reading all his writing, the reader discovers that the author is the same when he presents his ideas, even if he creates a fictional writing or a publishing text. The author wants to criticize the manners of his society using the irony and sarcasm, a parody based on negative aspects which makes us laugh instead of crying. I. L. Caragiale uses the laugh as a real weapon against society and its vices. Because of its actuality, the work of I. L. Caragiale can be read even today and the reader may discover the objectivity, his special and unique sense of humor, a sensible soul who suffers because of the corruption and lack of good principles. This author must be read by the young generation in order to discover this subtle modality of facing the wrong aspects from society and fight against them through irony and sarcasm. It’s obvious that this method may be as cruel as the physical punishment, sometimes more painful and efficient.
