THE CONSEQUENCES OF BUREAUCRATIC POWER IN THE POLICYMAKING PROCESS

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to describe the findings from this review and to discuss implications and future directions for corporate and bureaucratic power within the capitalist enterprise, understanding how the performance of bureaucracy arise out of politics, social and moral costs of bureaucratization, rational bureaucracy as the dominant organizational form, and the merits and possibilities of bureaucracy. The results of the current study converge with prior research on the systemic tension between the political and the bureaucratic, the ethics of bureaucratic conduct, the professional role of state bureaucrats, and the nature and extent of political influence on bureaucratic action.
